London Bird Report: Species Section Writers

The London Bird Report has a team of more than 25 volunteers who compile the species accounts which are at the heart of the LBR. We are looking for up to 10 more writers to join the panel to further share the work, improve turn-around times and to continue strengthening the panel of writers. It is a good way to make a useful contribution, be part of a success story and be recognised explicitly on the contents listing as a contributing writer. Writing a section or part of a section is not only enjoyable but is also useful skills development as it attunes you to digest information and extract highlights for a wider readership. You do not need to be an expert birder, but will need to be someone who does go out bird watching at least from time to time and the sort of person who will enjoy browsing through the LBR. The current work load per writer is estimated to take one or two whole week-ends (less for the more experienced writers). Writers are given 6 weeks to complete their sections. In the future the amount of work per writer may reduce with more writers being recruited. Past copies of the LBR are available online. If you are interested, please get in touch with the Chairman, Pete Lambert.
